Rodarte is one of my favorite designers. The designers create intricate and stunning pieces which focus on texture. They are super edgy yet wearable. It makes me think of a beautiful pixie or ballerina type in an amazing shimmering, mythical gown who went running through the forest and it snagged on all the branches. what do YOU think?

I am considering whether or not to spend my moolah on these cute ethnic flats from a site that sells vintage and handcrafted items called etsy. They are from Pakistan,are leather and have never been worn and have cutouts, beading and embroidery. They could go with anything... even jeans. They are also only 16$ plus about 4$ shipping. I think I will buy them.... wat u think?

project runway season 6... crazy for louise black!

The most promising designer on project runway HAS to be Louise black, 32 from dallas.Her favorite desighner is christian lacriox (wow.... one of my favs also!). Her style evokes quirky vintage with beautiful detailing! I want everything! Even her personal style I love. Keep an eye out for Louis... her clothes are wearable art! She was featured on the handmade fashion site "etsy" which is one of my fav places to find haut new designers. All of her designs look like handmade confections with a bit of bite and a side of sweet.... not to mention Victorian thrills.

To design is much like a popularity contest. You have the populars. The fabulous designers who are so staggeringly well known that they personify the fashion industry itself. designers like Oscar De Larenta, Versace, Dior. But what about the other cliques? The foreign exchange students, goths and rebels, the drama students, nerds, art freaks and the weirdo? Here I walk you through the fashion world by walking you through... highschool.

she created dark detailed outfits for fall and winter with lots of miniscule embroidery and surface detail for angsty gothic punch.

a sequined English flag top under sleek leather ontop of skinny black leather pants is a rebellious homerun.

Luella
Luella vamped it up for their fall/ winter collection with dark metallic prints and a "messed up pretty" philosophy.

The Weirdo

Junya Wantanabe
This strange designer concocted strangley beautifly gowns out the material used for sleeping bags to create a futeristic artsy presentaion. A scene straight out of a sci-fi novel.



The Drama Students

Slava Zaitsev
also a forighn exchange student from Russia,this line creates drama with intricate embellishment and bright fabric choice. Also one of the designers that inspire me the most in my designs.


Roksanda Ilincic
lots of different fabrics and textures add up to tons of drama from this forieghn designer

Zuhair Murad
a great couture designer who sometimes appears on the red carpet on sars like Carrie underwood and Miley Cyrus, but gets little recognition. A twinkling gown here is totally bold.


The Nerds

Boy by Band of outsiders
tweed pants and perfectly slouchy sweaters equal a cool geek-chic I am dying to try.

Aquilano e Rimondi
their sculpted shoulder, clean tux-inspired suits are totally smart.
